Analysis & Policy Observatory Forum 2018

Pru Mitchell presented an overview of Wikidata and Wikipedia, as part of the session on data, platforms and connected knowledge.

This event was part of international [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Open_Access_Week Open Access Week], and was held in partnership with Australasian Open Access Strategy Group (AOASG). The theme was 'Redesigning the public knowledge system: New tools and strategies for research, policy and practice'.

The invitation to present at the Forum provided a brilliant opportunity for communicating the place of Wikimedia projects in the open access ecosystem amongst a group of influential participants. We are following up a number of connections as a result including:
* Work in Wikidata to increase the number of Australian researchers and authors
* Meeting with the head of the Social Data Analytics (SoDA) Lab in the Social Innovation Research Institute, Swinburne University
* The Campbell Collaboration systematic reviews as a source of citations for #1Lib1Ref
* Future presentations at related conferences
