John Vandenberg, President
Craig Franklin, Treasurer
Graham Pearce, committee member

Wikimedia Australia is run by a committee that is elected each year at the AGM. The committee comprises four office-bearers and one ordinary member.

The current committee was elected on 9 October 2011 at the Annual General Meeting of 2011–12. At a committee meeting on 23 October 2012, Anne Frazer was removed as secretary due to missing three consecutive scheduled committee meetings per Rules#rule 24(D).

President

John Vandenberg manages data analysis and strategy in the Research Services Directorate at the University of New England. He has a graduate diploma from the Queensland University of Technology, and has worked as a network and software engineer as well as lecturing in IT at TAFE and private colleges.

Before becoming involved in Wikimedia, John was an open-source developer, providing improvements to projects such as Mozilla, Open Office, Bugzilla, and Apache Portable Runtime. In 2006 he shifted focus from open source to open content, becoming an administrator on the English Wikipedia and Wikisource projects in 2007. In 2008 and 2009 he served on the interim and inaugural Wikimedia Australia committee, and served as Arbitrator on the English Wikipedia, 2009–11.

Vice president

Laura Hale has just submitted her PhD thesis on Australian sport and social media, which she completed at the Sport Studies department at the University of Canberra. Originally from the US, she has lived in Australia since April 2010.

Treasurer

Craig Franklin works as a business analyst, focusing on statutory financial reporting, cost accounting, and business intelligence. He holds a Bachelor's degree from the Queensland University of Technology and is studying for a Master's degree in library science and knowledge management. He has been involved in Wikimedia since 2004, creating dozens of new articles, especially on Australian history, political figures, and cricketers.

Secretary

Charles Gregory is from Hobart, and has been editing the English Wikipedia since 2002. He was one of the first Australian administrators on the site, appointed in September 2004. He works at the Australian Wikipedians' noticeboard on Wikipedia and has made contributions in map development and the history of Tasmania.

Ordinary member

Graham Pearce is from Perth. He is interested in music – mostly classical – number theory, and the history and geography of Western Australia. He uses the screenreader JAWS with a speech synthesiser to access the Internet. His contributions to the English Wikipedia – where he is an administrator – include copy-editing, article cleanups, and more substantial edits.
