Meeting: 2013 AGM/Secretary's report

Hello,

I became secretary of Wikimedia Australia after a [[Meeting:Committee (2013-03-17)#Committee reshuffle|resolution on 17 March 2013]]; before that date I was the vice-president of the organisation.

==Membership==
Wikimedia Australia has 53 members, one less than last year. They come from the following locations:
*Australian Capital Territory: 3
*New South Wales: 15
*Queensland: 7
*Victoria: 12
*Western Australia: 8
*South Australia: 3
*Tasmania: 4
*Outside of Australia: 1

Ten of our members, or 19%, are female, which is about the same as last year.

==Membership register access==
On 19 August 2013 (AEST), a member of Wikimedia Australia requested a copy of our membership register. We did not give it to this person due to advice from Consumer Affairs Victoria that our rules only permitted inspection of the register; an offer to facilitate this inspection was declined. We later held [[Meeting:2013 SGM|an SGM]] which clarified the rules about inspection of the membership register, among other things.

I'd like to thank the committee, especially Craig, for helping me adjust to the role as secretary, and providing assistance for tasks that were difficult or impossible for me due to my blindness.
