Annual Financial Statements

The attached financial statements will be submitted to Consumer Affairs Victoria as part of our annual information statement.

Current balance

As of 8 October 2018, there is $59,750.01 in the Westpac account, $166.57 in our debit Credit Card account and $556.81 in the PayPal account.

Income

WMAU received a total of $50,672.37 in revenue for the 2017-18 financial year.

Grants

$2,372.86 was paid to WMAU for the Strategy Tour, this grant was applied to by Tom Hogarth. WMAU received $33,725 Simple Annual Plan Grant for the 2018-19 financial year.

Membership dues

$452.69 in membership dues were received during 2017-18, over 55 transactions which was down on 2016-17, eleven of which were new members. Six memberships are currently overdue, with three new memberships currently on-hold until after the AGM, when the membership opens.

Donations

$13,751 in donations was received during 2017-18, which was up from what WMAU received during 2015-16 and 2016-17. $10,000 of that was received by an anonymous donor.

Bank interest

Interest for the 2016-27 financial year was $38.46, slightly down on 2016-17 financial year

G Suite/Google Apps

Cost from July-Sept and Dec 2017 was $65 per month, Oct 2017 and Jan 2018 $61.83, Nov 2017 $61.86, Feb-May 2018 $70 and the final payment in June 2018 for $20.32

WMAU recently applied for Connecting Up, which we were successful. With this, WMAU now has reduced this cost to $0 with G Suite for Non-profits.

Xero

Xero currently it costs WMAU $50 per month and has for sometime.

Webhosting

Our website hosting is currently provided by Linode at a cost of US$20 per month. The total cost for 2017-18 was AU$325.30

WMAU domain renewal $45 for two years

Wiki Loves Earth 2017

$674.23 was spent for prizes, printing and postage for the final 10 and offical winner.

Wiki Loves Monuments 2017

$527.80 was spent for prizes, printing and postage for the final 10 and offical winner.

WikiClubs

$500 budget was set aside for WikiClubs to help assist in covering expenses.

WikiClub WA spent $17.36 of the set budget.

Wikidata Tour (2018)

$4,093.58 was spent in 2017-18 and $2,086.31 in 2018-19. So far a total of $6,179.89 has been spent, with more expenses possible.

Wikimania 2017 Montreal

In total $2,962.50 was spent in reimbursements in 2017-18, bring the total spent to $5,282.60, which is $37.40 less than the $5,320 stated at the last AGM.

Wikimania 2018 Cape Town

One representative was sent at a total cost of $4,119.25 in the 2017-18 financial year and $207.97 in the 2018-19 financial year, bring the total cost to $4,327.22

PayPal

PayPal fees for 2017-18 financial year was $18.97, this is down due to the WMAU PayPal account being locked at the end of 2017 and the start of 2018.
