Business

Donor Privacy Policy

The issue of the proposed Donor Privacy Policy was raised, and discussion looked at the proposed wording. Two changes were recommended and made:

  • As we do not have professional staff, the access to financial information about donors would be limited to "executive officers who need to process the data and complete financial accounting and records".
  • The sections on "Donor's access to personal information" and "Donor concerns and complaints" were added, to make it clear that donors can access their data and have a path to manage complaints.

Motion: That we adopt the draft donor privacy policy as written on commwiki as our official donor privacy policy.

  • Moved: Craig
  • Seconded: Adam
  • Carried without dissent.

Note: At this point Brian left the meeting.

Return of grant money

With the funds raised through the fundraiser, it was suggested that we return any unspent grant money to the Wikimedia Foundation for redistribution. This received in-principal support, but it was felt that such a move should be delayed until PayPal allowed access to the funds. In the interim, it was agreed that John should contact the Foundation and let them know that we were keen to return the unspent grant money, but that this would be delayed until we have access to the PayPal account.

Small grant application: Liam Wyatt

Motion: The committee approves Liam Wyatt's application for a $100 small grant to assist with travel expenses to Melbourne to present at "Museums Australia"

  • Moved: John
  • Seconded: Andrew
  • Carried without dissent.

Reimbursement of Brian Salter-Duke

Motion: The committee approves Brian Salter-Duke's application for reimbursement of $38.50 for expenses incurred while conducting chapter business, subject to a receipt being provided to the Treasurer.

  • Moved: Craig
  • Seconded: John
  • Carried without dissent.

Proposal policy

Motion: That the proposal policy is adopted by Wikimedia Australia

  • Moved: John
  • Seconded: Adam
  • Carried without dissent.
