A question

This seems like a good idea, but just to clarify, is the idea to line up the 100-odd sites before printing the plaques? Given that printers generally give large discounts for larger jobs, this might be the best option it it's practical. Nick-D (talk) 21:24, 2 February 2014 (EST)

yeah its best to do when we have 100 articles using the printer who created the freo ones. I'll also create the artworks like I did for freo this will be a considerable saving as well. Gnangarra 21:59, 2 February 2014 (EST)
Thanks for the offer - it would be great to see a mock up. It's worth considering how much text to include:
  • article name
  • "Wikipedia"
  • "Wikimedia Australia"
  • principal editors?
  • short description?
  • plaque placement date?

I'll do a sample, but basically the costing is on the current design format for Freopedia, which will have Wikipedia across the top the QR code the article name with WMAU logo below that. Personally I;m not sure that principle editors would be realistic to include because it would potentially become obsolete as the article is expanded. It may also attract unwanted attention to individuals, especially controversial subjects. Gnangarra 23:54, 3 February 2014 (EST)

Quick question

Just so I'm clear, the proposal is that WMAU will print the plaques (at WMAU's expense) once the article hits GA (or FA, I imagine) status? It's then up to the community member to arrange to have it mounted in proximity to the site? Lankiveil (talk) 23:31, 2 February 2014 (EST).

WMAU will contact the site owner for permission to place the plaque before getting it printed. Gnangarra 00:04, 3 February 2014 (EST)
