Mission
Wikimedia Australia supports the mission of the Wikimedia Foundation, to empower and engage people around the world to collect and develop educational content under a free license or in the public domain, and to disseminate it effectively and globally.
Purpose
- organise and participate in educational and social events that promote development of Free Cultural Works and related open source software systems
- increase public awareness, support and participation in the projects hosted by the Wikimedia Foundation (WMF)
- develop resources to assist contributors in the creation and maintenance of Free Cultural Works
