Talk:2013 Annual Plan

USyd project revised heavily

Note that the USyd linkage has been replaced with a symposium @ USyd. The cause is primarily that it took a long time for us to find a suitable partner investigator for this project, as the rules are very prohibitive, and we've been overrun by events a bit. The project is still the same, with the same amount of WMAU funding, but we wont receive co-contribution from the Australian Government. The USyd academic is planning to organise in-kind support (facilities and human resources) from USyd in order for the project to proceed. John Vandenberg 21:46, 22 November 2012 (EST)

Semester 1 plan

As we received $0 from the FDC round 1, I have added to the plan an implementation that uses $75,000 of our $100,000 cash reserve during the first half of 2013 while we wait for the round 2 result. John Vandenberg 21:46, 22 November 2012 (EST)

unfunded proposals

Are there any funding requests before the current committee that have not been included in the current budget Gnangarra 23:17, 23 November 2012 (EST)

Hi. Yes, there are a few, in various stages of readiness.
You were involved with one request that was sent to the committee. The committee responded with questions, which have not been answered. However the committee also noted that the proposal had been seconded by a member and according to the proposals process it could be published on the wiki in order to move to the next step. We're waiting for answers, or for the proposal to be published by the people who wrote it. It wasnt a proposal that the committee felt it could add to the plan in its current form.
Members of the committee and members of the organisation have also written proposals that havent made it through the proposals process (yet). Some would need polishing before they could be funded; others were good. One was sent through in the last week. Our Annual Plan had allowed for these proposals to be refined, published and funded. Without FDC funding in the first round, it is unlikely that they could be funded in the first semester. However the people involved can push those proposals onto the wiki to be included in the second round of the FDC and be funded in the second half of 2013. John Vandenberg 23:44, 23 November 2012 (EST)
