The Wikimedia Foundation, Wikimedia Australia's parent organisation, hosts and supports a range of projects which contain information on Australia. Some of these include: Wikipedia, Wikimedia Commons, Wikisource, Wikibooks and Wikinews, as well as projects in a vast range of languages. Wikimedia Australia does not manage and is not responsible for the content of these pages and artefacts, but as a repository of free cultural works, they stand on their own and we encourage our members and supporters to have a look.
Wikipedia offers encyclopaedia articles on many major historical figures in Australian politics and culture. Several workgroups, such as Australian politics, Australian law and Australian history maintain various collections of information - there are plenty more and if you wish to participate, the groups are always welcoming of new users and contributors (especially if you have good source material!)
