Led by Kerrie Burn of the University of Divinity, the Australian Women in Religion Project team has been tirelessly collecting, sorting and uploading data, as well as editing and creating articles about Australian women. This is also the Australian contribution to the wider 1000 Women in Religion Project which aims to raise up the unrecognised work of important women in religion and to help address the gender bias on platforms like Wikipedia. Still today, only about 18% of biographical articles on Wikipedia are about women.
During the Wiki-Week Editing Extravaganza we will focus on 3 groups of women:
- Women included on the Australian Dictionary of Biography without a Wikipedia page
- Women associated with the Movement for the Ordination of Women
- Women associated with the Women-Church journal
Region: National
