Picture this! A Sydney history edit-a-thon by the City of Sydney.
The City of Sydney Library is joining the movement to remedy the imbalance and bias in the diversity of voices on Wikipedia.

Join them for their 'Picture This' edit-a-thon workshop led by City Historians Dr Lisa Murray and Laila Ellmoos and supported by experienced Wikipedia editors Toby Hudson and Ann Reynolds. With their help, participants will focus on improving Sydney-specific Wikipedia articles with historic images sourced from the City Archives collection.

No experience is necessary to join the edit-a-thon. Bring your own laptop or tablet and connect to our free wi-fi or use one of our devices. (A limited number of library devices will be available for use at the event).

Participants are encouraged to set up a Wikipedia account prior to the workshop.

Lesson learned: This event went well but that "there is a big lesson to learn about events with in-person and virtual participants. It's very difficult to engage people online whilst still having a group of people in the same room as you. Lessons included talk to the video conference attendees prior to the event starting, and make sure that the person looking after the virtual participants is in a room separate from the physical attendees."
