Women in STEM Edit-a-Thon and Q&A Panel

In NSW, Wikipedia edit-a-thon event celebrating women and non-binary people in STEM!
Join us to celebrate Women and non-binary people in STEM through a Wikipedia edit-a-thon!

Did you know only 19% of biographies on Wikipedia are about women? Research has shown Women in STEM are particularly underrepresented compared to male counterparts. Time to take some action! Join us for a Wikipedia edit-a-thon to create profiles on Wikipedia to highlight the achievements of women and non-binary people in STEM and help reduce the bias in content online, with Wikipedian Caddie Brain.

The event will also feature a Q&A panel featuring:

  • Erica Hediger: Founder and CEO of the Creative Element
  • Prof Tanya Monro: Australia's Chief Defence Scientist
  • A/Prof Alice Motion: Westpac Research Fellow and Deputy Director Sydney Nano

Edit-a-thon: 11:45am - 3:30pm

Panel: 3:45pm - 5pm followed by networking
