Kassi's statement

As a Wikimedia Australia board member for the last two years I have been committed to helping guide Australian editors by supporting and promoting Wikimedia projects and communities. I have advocated for, supported and encouraged, and celebrated the community's continued contribution to the open knowledge movement. I have represented the board by participating in the selection of organisations for Partner Projects and helping to facilitate in-person events. I recently represented the board at the AIATSIS Summit to help support WMAU's significant work in launching the Culture Strong guide by Terri Janke & company. I am an active participant in online community calls with both our ESEAP and Aotearoa New Zealand regional communities. I have this year started a monthly meetup for Canberra Wikimedians called WikiCanberra which I organise and run myself. If re-elected I will continue the work I have been doing which includes Chairing the recently formed Diversity, Inclusion, and Safety Subcommittee which I was the driving force behind proposing its necessity. I am passionate about making sure that everyone is supported to show up as themselves when contributing to Wiki projects. Long live free knowledge.
