Introducing... our new Wikidata Fellowships In 2022, Wikimedia Australia will be offering two creative fellowships grants of $1000 (AUD) to curate a data set, develop a prototype or undertake an investigation using Wikidata. Matched with a Wikimedian, fellows will be mentored through their projects with resources, feedback and support. Applications open Monday 10 January 2022 closing midnight Sunday 27 February 2022. Wikimania videos are now live In case you missed it, more and more videos of Wikimania presentations are being uploaded each day. The Wikimedia Australia presentation is now available here, as is the Women in Religion presentation.

Women in Religion update The Women in Religion project is on the cusp of reaching its 2021 target of 100 new articles. 96 new articles have been created so far about Australian women in religion, in addition to the improvement of many others. There are now 562 women on the main working list as new names are suggested, with a focus on under-represented groups to increase the diversity of religious and spiritual traditions represented. Next year the group will meet on the 4th Wednesday of every month. The next meet-up is this Wednesday 24 November at 9am AEDT.

Wikipedia Asian Month There's just one week to go in this month-long online edit-a-thon held every November to create new content or improve existing articles about Asian topics. Read more here.

ACMI in Melbourne has released its new API ACMI first released its collection data as a downloadable spreadsheet in 2016. Since the new ACMI re-opened in February 2021, the ACMI Labs built the infrastructure for its first public collection API. Some ideas about how to harness it are here.
