all fairly fluid

do feel free to restructure / edit / change the page in any way at all.. I think this'll be useful in some form :-) Privatemusings 01:25, 16 January 2009 (UTC)

I don't understand what you mean? Sorry if you're not happy with my edits. I think this page and topic is extremely important (one of the most important for us) and I was just trying to make it into more of a guideline and a little more professional in tone, I guess, with a separate space for people wanting to have informal discussion about ideas and projects. I think it's better and more professional in appearance to have the advice/guideline separate from the informal discussion about projects, rather than having it all condensed together on one page, but by all means, if you don't like what I've done, please feel free to explain. For the record I support Sarah's rewrite - she's done a great job with this page and the result will hopefully be seen as something useful by our members and volunteers. Ultimately the advice we offer them should be clear and meaningful. Orderinchaos 16:02, 17 May 2010 (EST)
Thanks Andrew, much appreciated. I also think it's very important to present members/supporters with clear guidelines to assist them in engaging in projects and other work with the chapter. But I also think we'd be kidding ourselves if we didn't accept that outside organisations and parties will check us out if they're considering a project or partnership with us, so I think it's important to try to write our pages in professional language and tone to try to present as professional image as possible and to try to keep the "folksy" stuff to discussion pages and designated workspaces only. The folksy language just doesn't present a professional image or make us look like a serious organisation. Sarah 13:29, 18 May 2010 (EST)

< I think the edits are pretty good too :-) - I think my tone may have been a wee bit confusing above - re-reading it, it seems a bit of a redundant comment / not really saying anything (the 'dunno' comment) - I think having the text and a 'workspace' subpage is a good idea - I think the text may be a wee bit dense, so I'll see if I can separate it out / clarify it at all at some point, if that's cool - and thanks for your edits anywhoo! cheers, Privatemusings 14:25, 29 May 2010 (EST)
