Did you know? When NASA's Artemis II flew around the Moon in April 2026, the first crewed lunar mission in more than 50 years, the crew included Christina Koch, the first woman to travel beyond low Earth orbit and the first Wikipedia editor in space!
Wikimania 2026 schedule now live
The programme for Wikimania 2026, the 21st annual Wikimedia conference, is now published. It runs from 21 to 25 July in Paris, as both an in-person and online event, with sessions spanning AI, GLAM, community, technology, policy and more. Whether you're heading to Paris or following along remotely, the schedule is well worth a browse.
WMAU will be represented on the ground in Paris by a strong contingent of editors, advocates and policy leaders. We hope you can join the conversation! Browse the Wikimania schedule.

Wiki Loves Pride 2026 Australia
🌈 Our Wiki Loves Pride Australia editing series is underway: six fortnightly, hands-on sessions running June through August, focused on improving LGBTQ+ content on Wikipedia. Whether you're brand new to editing or an old hand, you're welcome to drop in, learn the ropes, and add to the record alongside others.
Sessions run on Saturdays and Fridays across the series. The next one is Friday 3 July. See the event series
New Wikimedia Commons Catch Up
We're launching Wikimedia Commons Catch Up! A relaxed monthly online session for anyone keen to work on and chat about Wikimedia Commons - uploads, categories, licensing, or just curiosity, all experience levels welcome.
The first session is Thursday 9 July, 7:00–8:30 pm AEST, then the second Thursday of every month. Join Wikimedia Commons Catch Up
Become a Member of Wikimedia Australia
Like what we're doing? Wikimedia Australia is an independent, not-for-profit charity, and our members are the people who make our work possible. Membership is open to anyone who shares our commitment to free knowledge — you don't need to be an experienced Wikipedia editor, or any kind of editor at all!
Members help shape WMAU's direction, can vote at the AGM, and are first to hear about events, scholarships and travel funding opportunities like the one that sent Ash to Wellington. Explore WMAU membership.
