Wikimedia Australia October 2026 Update
News
What we've been up to in October 2026, plus our events and news from the wider Wikimedia and Open Knowledge movement.
WikiWhiz — guess the day's Wikipedia article
WikiWhiz is a free daily guessing game, a bit like Wordle, where the answer is an English Wikipedia article. You get up to seven clues, starting vague and getting more specific. The clues come from across the Wikimedia projects: an image from Commons, a fact from Wikidata, a word origin from Wiktionary, and statistics about the article itself. Every guess has to be a real article title, and a wrong guess tells you how many links away you are from the answer. It was built by a volunteer and is available on Toolforge. It is also open source. Log in with your Wikimedia account to keep track of your streak.
