Wikimedia Australia presentation for ALIA at the State Library of Western Australia (2014)

Wikimedia Australia's partnership with Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA) has included assisting with librarian training and workshops.

In 2013, Wikimedia Australia sponsored ALIA's New Librarians' Symposium, and members of Wikimedia Australia attended and presented at the Symposium and ALIA's Online Conference in Brisbane. Presentations included Liam Wyatt's GLAM-Wiki from Australia to the world and back, and Tara Macphail with Tony Naar on the History of the Paralympic Movement in Australia project. Read more here.

Throughout 2014, volunteers from Wikimedia Australia held a series of "Wikipedia and Libraries" presentations across the country to ALIA members. Approximately 280 people attended the sessions, with live tweets from some of the talks made under the #aliawikip Twitter hashtag.

Wikimedians also presented at the 14th National Libraries and Information Association (ALIA) Conference in Melbourne.

In 2015 the partnership extended with editathon workshops run by professional librarians from the State Library of NSW who were also experienced Wikipedians.
