News

WMAU Office closed for 2022

From this afternoon, Wikimedia Australia’s office will be closed until January 2nd 2023. While our inboxes remain open, we may be slow to reply until the first week of the new year. We wish everyone a safe and happy holiday.

2022's Most Viewed Wikipedia Pages In Australia

In celebration of the year that was, we made a list of the most viewed Wikipedia pages in Australia between December 2021-November 2022. It even includes a surprising French language article in the top 10. Read about some of the highlights here and then check out the full 500 most viewed pages in Australia.

Wellington WikiCon 2023

Our friends in New Zealand have announced Wellington WikiCon 2023 will run 11–12 March 2023. Information on the conference is being finalised at time of writing, but there will be sessions on the Pasifika Arts Aotearoa project and future Mana Moana projects, discussions around creating a good suburb article on Wikipedia, using Wikidata, and more.
