ESEAP Conference
From 10 to 12 May, nearly 150 Wikimedians from East, South East Asia and the Pacific (ESEAP) came together for the 2024 ESEAP Conference. Facilitated by Wikimedia Malaysia, the conference took place in Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia, and online, with several Australian community members taking part. We look forward to hearing more about their news and experiences. In the meantime, you can view the conference presentations and photos on Wikimedia Commons.
Northern Territory Environment Wiki Project Partner update
Over 100 images have been added to Wikimedia Commons in the last few months as part of the Northern Territory Environment Wiki Project. Recently added images have included stunning photos of white naped honeyeaters and lesser sand plovers, and also documented the habits of turtles nesting in the sand at Lee Point. Images that have been added to Wikimedia Commons have then, where possible, been shared across to Wikipedia to add context to Wikipedia articles - like this one from the Northern Territory Herbarium collection. Read more about the project.
