- Copyright issues
Amanda, Alex and Caddie met with Caroline Hough from Policy Australia who provided probono guidance on understanding Australian copyright law in relation to images of sculptures and art works - often referred to internationally as Freedom of Panorama. Caroline suggested creating a table outlining the key issues and examples of how they applied that could be published on WMAU website and on Wikimedia pages about Australian copyright law. Copyright explanation table created by Carolyn Hough with some edits from Amanda, Caddie and Alex

Extension of Wikidata Fellowship
Proposal that the Wikidata Fellowship program be expanded to three fellowships of $1000 each, and that recipients are required to be financial members of Wikimedia Australia.

WMAU made a submission made to the Federal government’s Copyright Amendment (Access Reform) Bill 2021, uploaded to Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Communications on 25 February 2022.

National Gallery of Australia National Gallery of Australia launched their Gender Equity Action Plan which includes developing Wikimedia content as part of their impact plan: 1.4 Build public awareness of the social, cultural, ethical and identity issues informing gender equity Wikimedia Australia was a feature story in the plan and also mentioned as part of achieving Goal 17 of the sustainable development goals. Ramzy Muliawan Q106762396, WMF, re voting for UCoC The ratification voting process for the revised enforcement guidelines of the Universal Code of Conduct (UCoC) is now open! Voting commenced on SecurePoll on 7 March 2022 and will conclude on 21 March 2022. Please read more on the voter information and eligibility details. Rachel Arinii Judhistari, WMF - re Anti-Trolling bill WMF submitted two inputs for the Australia Social Media (Anti-Trolling) Bill and Privacy Act. In addition, they also meet with the defamation task force.
- Applications to WMF for Alliance Fund
A number of organisations are interested in applying for WMF Alliance Funds and getting endorsement from WMAU. Details to be discussed confidentially by the committee at a future meeting.
- ACTION
- Set up meetings with interested applicants and with WMF grants officer over the next few weeks to review and support alliance funding process - Exec and Caddie.
