2025-2026 Wikimedia Australia Partnerships

Partner Projects 2025-2026 WMAU has awarded funding to three Partner Projects for 2025-2026. Partner Projects engage with one or more Wikimedia platforms, like Wikipedia, Wikidata, or Wikimedia Commons.

2024-2025 Wikimedia Australia Projects and Residencies

2SER FM A community radio project that updated existing pages, identified gaps, and created new Wikipedia entries for Australian women journalists, commentators, and experts.

South Australian Museum This project increased the visibility of the Museum's research and collections through Wikipedia and related platforms, and the Museum hosted hands-on community training and networking opportunities.

State Library Victoria In 2025, from February to June, Wikimedians-in-Residence, Kerrie Burn and Ellie Watts, worked at the State Library of Victoria, uncovering the radical acts of Australia's feminist activism movement.

2023-2024 Wikimedia Australia Projects and Residencies

EPA Victoria Wikimedian in Residence Exploring legal topics and environmental matters at Environment Protection Authority, Victoria

Biodiversity Heritage Library Australia This project gathered the social and natural histories of Victoria's regional Field Naturalists Clubs to make them freely accessible and discoverable on WIkipedia.

Environment Centre NT Wikipedian in Residence This project engaged local Wikipedian, Caddie Brain, to help grow Wikipedia pages related to the Northern Territory.

Library and Information Science WikiProject Identifying and filling gaps in library and information science (LIS)-related content on Wikimedia platforms.
